As one of Vancouver’s first independent fresh-pressed juice shops, Radicle offers a genuinely healthy take on juice. Clou Studio worked with Radicle to develop the brand from the ground up including the identity system, naming & voice, collateral, print & online advertising, packaging and interior layout.
In an industry dominated by franchises that serve less-than-fresh juices, we wanted to position this small local shop as being radically different. This meant taking a transparent, honest and independent approach that reflected their fresh (not frozen) perspective. It was time to #takebackjuice.
To bring an authentic voice to the brand, they first needed a name. “Radicle” not only captures their vision for doing things differently, it’s also a botany term for the first root of a plant to emerge from a seed. With a strong brand name in place, we developed names for all of their juices and smoothies. Names like Red Dawn, Knockout and Heavy D helped to give every item on the menu a distinct personality.
A bold and bright aesthetic gave the brand flexibility, function and consistency. Through simple photography of deconstructed ingredients, we showed customers exactly what was in their juice. And to differentiate the brand even further, we created custom reusable jars. These helped Radicle to reduce waste and build a loyal following while they’re at it.
